When the Saints Come Marching In
Joel 2
Battle of Armageddon and 7 proofs the army is
supernatural.
-
There has never been any like them appearing
on earth before (v2)
-
Nor will there be ever again…until the end
of the Millennium when Satan and his angels and demons will appear on earth
in an effort to take it over, at which time God will send this army of
heaven against them. (v2; Isa. 24:22; Rev. 20:7-10)
-
A fire will devour before them (v3; 2 Th
1:7-10)
-
They will be riding horses or be in chariots
(v4) This is pictured several times of God’s Army (2 Ki 2:11-12; 6:16-19;
Zech 1:7-11; 6:1-8; Rev 19:11, 14 21)
-
They will not be hurt even if they fall upon
a sword (v8)
-
Different from men, they are able to climb
walls; and they will climb up upon the houses and enter into the windows
like a thief (v9)
-
THEY ARE THE LORD’S ARMY AND HE WILL BE
LEADING THEM PERSONALLY. HIS ARMY IS DEFINETLY SPOKEN OF AS BEING THE HOLY
ANGELS AND RESURRECTED SAINTS FROM HEAVEN. (Zech. 14:4-5; Mt.
16:27; 24:31; 2 Th 1:7-10; Jude 14-15; Rev. 19:11-21)

1
Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let
all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh,
for it
is nigh at hand; |
1
Blow the ram's horn trumpet in Zion! Trumpet the alarm on my holy
mountain! Shake the country up! GOD's Judgment's on its way--the Day's
almost here! |
|
2
A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick
darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a
strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more
after it, even to the years of
many generations. |
2
A black day! A Doomsday! Clouds with no silver lining! Like dawn light
moving over the mountains, a huge army is coming. There's never been
anything like it and never will be again. |
|
3
A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land
is as the garden of Eden before
them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall
escape them. |
3
Wildfire burns everything before this army and fire licks up everything
in its wake. Before it arrives, the country is like the Garden of Eden.
When it leaves, it is Death Valley. Nothing escapes unscathed.
|
|
4
The appearance of them is as the
appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run. |
4
The huge army seems all horses-- galloping horses, an army of horses.
|
|
5
Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap,
like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a
strong people set in battle array. |
5
It sounds like thunder leaping on mountain ridges, Or like the roar of
wildfire through grass and brush, Or like an invincible army shouting
for blood, ready to fight, straining at the bit. |
|
6
Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall
gather blackness. |
6
At the sight of this army, the people panic, faces white with terror.
|
|
7
They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of
war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not
break their ranks: |
7
The invaders charge. They climb barricades. Nothing stops them. Each
soldier does what he's told, so disciplined, so determined. |
|
8
Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path:
and when they fall upon the
sword, they shall not be wounded. |
8
They don't get in each other's way. Each one knows his job and does it.
Undaunted and fearless, unswerving, unstoppable. |
|
9
They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall,
they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows
like a thief. |
9
They storm the city, swarm its defenses, Loot the houses, breaking down
doors, smashing windows. |
|
10
The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun
and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
|
10
They arrive like an earthquake, sweep through like a tornado. Sun and
moon turn out their lights, stars black out. |
|
11
And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp
is very great: for
he is
strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD
is great and very terrible; and who
can abide it? |
11
GOD himself bellows in thunder as he commands his forces. Look at the
size of that army! And the strength of those who obey him! GOD's
Judgment Day--great and terrible. Who can possibly survive this?
|
|
12
Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye
even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with
weeping, and with mourning: |
12
But there's also this, it's not too late-- GOD's personal Message!--
"Come back to me and really mean it! Come fasting and weeping, sorry for
your sins!" |
|
13
And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your
God: for he is gracious and
merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the
evil. |
13
Change your life, not just your clothes. Come back to GOD, your God. And
here's why: God is kind and merciful. He takes a deep breath, puts up
with a lot, This most patient God, extravagant in love, always ready to
cancel catastrophe. |

Prayer for Salvation: Jesus Christ is
the Son of God. If we have invited Jesus to come and live within us and be the
Lord of our lives then our inheritance in the future kingdom is assured.
God's word says in John 14:6, "Jesus
saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me."
In order to invite Jesus to be your
Savior and Lord, you must believe in you heart that He is the Son of God,
believe that He died upon the cross of Calvary as an atonement for your wrong
doings, and believe that He arose from death and the grave. We must confess and
repent of our sins and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. If you have never done
this then stop right now and pray this prayer.
Heavenly Father, I come to You in the
Name of Jesus repenting and asking forgiveness of all my sins. Your Word says,
"whosoever shall call on the Name of the Lord shall be saved" (Acts 2:21). I am
calling on You. I pray and ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my
life according to Romans 10:9-10. "If thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised Him from the dead
thou shalt be saved" I do that now. I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe
in my heart that God raised Him from the dead. I am a Christian ..a child of
Almighty God! I am saved!
You are now an heir to the Kingdom of
God! Your future is assured. I want to encourage you to find a church in your
local area to attend. Tell someone that you have just received Jesus as your
Lord. Than start digging into God's Word.
"I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am
convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day"
