Looking back this is probably the first
time I realized angels were real.
Mom, Dad, my baby sister and I were
having a supper picnic at the beach in La Jolla, CA. I was around 7 and
had a little pail to collect shells with. I was told not to go far and
stay clear of the water because the tide was coming in.
I didnít know what a tide was but loved
collecting shells and looking for strange creatures on the beach and in
the shallows. I donít know how far I went but wandered further into the
water to get an interesting looking shell that was under the water. I
leaned over to get it. When I raised up the water was over my head and I
didnít know how to swim.
Suddenly I felt myself being pulled up
by the hair and a man carried me to the beach beyond the water. He said,
ďGo back to your parents and do what youíre told!Ē I looked back. The
man was gone. The beach and the water were deserted. I went back to
where my parents were wondering how that man could just disappear so
They had gathered up the picnic stuff
and were by the stairs that go up out of the beach. The place where we
had had our picnic was now under water and they were calling me. When
they saw me they breathed a sign of relief and fussed at me for not
doing what I was told. When I tried to tell them about the man they
didnít believe me.
God flung the stars into space and
made the roaring sea
Yet HE looked down from heaven and saw
I donít know why I am so important to
Him. He has rescued me so many times from injury and death. I am filled
with awe and wonder that He pays so much attention to a nobody such as
