God Sees Me 2

After the war we moved to Bakersfield, CA. to a new housing development. I was 8 going on 9.

I had to walk to school. Coming home, the sun was so hot the asphalt was soft enough to keep a footprint. There were three older boys behind me giggling and making fun of me. I got scared and ran into a grassy section next to the road looking for a place to hide. They were right behind me and threw me down. There was a small pond nearby. They dragged me there and held my head under water. I thought sure I was going to die.

All of a sudden the pressure on my head and back stopped and I rose up gasping for breath. The boys were running away as if terrified. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a huge man standing where they had just been. It was just a flash and he was gone.

I ran the rest of the way home. I told my parents what happened. They didn’t believe me.

God  flung the stars into space and made the roaring sea

Yet HE looked down from heaven and saw just ME!
