Christians who do not believe in the Millennium don't read their Bibles. It is there in several places in black and white and easy to understand. Remember: Some who call themselves Christians...ARE NOT! Hitler called himself a Christian but I doubt you will see him in heaven. I'm sure he went in the other direction. Read the Bible and study it for yourself. That way you can't be deceived.

Even Jesus wondered at his great faith. Jesus stated He had not found such a great faith in all of Israel. He was remarkable. He recognized Jesus as a person of authority. He also had authority over 100 men and knew his orders would be carried out. He had the power of Rome behind him but recognized that Jesus had an even greater authority behind Him.

Luke chapter 16 gives the answer. Jesus tells us.

Luk 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
Luk 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Luk 16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

This shows the transition to heaven or hell is immediate.

God's word says in John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
In order to invite Jesus to be your Savior and Lord, you must believe in you heart that He is the Son of God, believe that He died upon the cross of Calvary as an atonement for your wrong doings, and believe that He arose from death and the grave. We must confess and repent of our sins and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. If you have never done this then stop right now and pray this prayer.

A question for Christians about hell?

Atheists, this is not a question for you, but feel free to post your silly little rants. God still loves you.

I think the majority of us Christians who have studied the topic of hell believe that, according to scripture, hell is close to the centre of the earth, or in the bowels of the earth. But I believe the Bible clearly teaches that at the end of the thousand years we shall inherit the earth. So my question is, will the wicked spend eternity in the centre of the earth to suffer the wrath of hell while the righteous live on a paradise earth? I can't imagine the lake of fire being in outer space. Will the wicked be tormented in the centre of the earth while the righteous live on the paradise earth?

Every indication is that it is in the center of the earth. There are some verses in Isaiah that describe that after Babylon is destroyed it becomes a hole to hell where the people living during the Millennial reign will be able to see those in hell. It could be used as a prevention against rebellion since the devil will be chained in the pit and Jesus will be ruling along with the saints so there will be perfect justice.

Here is the verse in Isaiah.
Isa 66:23 And it will be, from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh will come to worship before Me, says Jehovah.
Isa 66:24 And they will go out and see the dead bodies of the men who have sinned against Me; for their worm will not die, nor will their fire be put out; and they will be an object of disgust to all flesh.

You stated it correctly. The Antichrist also rides a white horse at the beginning of the Apocalypse. Christ rides a white horse leading His army of angels and saints at the END of the Apocalypse.

On Iranian money it shows the Mahdi riding a white horse. Their religion and politics are totally intertwined. If the western governments could just get that through their heads they might understand the world situation a little better.

Dear Bible Scholars, can you answer this? When Jesus comes again....?

He will win the war of Armageddon, agreed? But the thing that is confusing is that it will take 7 years to gather up and burn all the weapons, and 3 months to bury all the bodies? Agreed or not? What I can't put together is how this could all be going on in Israel and the surrounding area, when we are supposed to be getting a new earth and starting the Millennium. The Bible tells us the earth will be destroyed by fire. So, does this all make perfect sense to anyone? Thanks.

From what I was taught, the earth gets cleansed before the Millenium and afterwards too and then the Millenium is repeated and cleansed every 1000 years.

When the earth is cleansed by fire it will be at the END of the thousand year reign of Christ.

The first part of the Millennial reign will include a lot of adjustment and clean up. The earth and the people who survive will have endured a lot of trauma.

No other book has all the answers on how to live your life, gives the path to heaven and tells you what to expect in the future. Most exciting book there is. All the signs for the Apocalypse are now here and I am expecting the Rapture to happen any minute.

Just shows how ignorant the author of the Koran is. The Bible never calls a baby a blood clot but says God knows them from the time they are conceived. I like that version better.

if the rapture happens before the great tribulation will they be raptured and then will come back to earth? as they will be two saved persons and sure they are already living in the earth. if the rapture happens this week, for example, will be the two witnesses raptured with the other few saved? and in the beginning of the tribulation will come back? how will they appear and from where?

There are two men of the past who have never died. Enoch and Elijah. They are the two witnesses. Some think it will be Moses and Elijah, but it makes more sense to me that the ones who never died will be the witnesses. God will put them on the earth with powers to do miracles so no one can kill them until it is the right time. they will lie in the streets of Jerusalem for 3 days until God raises them up and raptures them to heaven. The Bible says the whole world will see it. That would never have been possible until modern times with the Internet and world wide TV.

Jesus loved weddings where all kinds of good food including sweets are served. His first miracle was at a wedding where He turned water into wine. I can imagine Him enjoying a good piece of pie.

When He returns physically as King of Kings I am guessing it will be 2019. Here is why.
The Jews count a generation as 52 years. The Bible tells us that the generation that sees the Jews get control of Jerusalem will see Jesus return. The end of that generation is 2019. The rapture has to happen at least 7 years before that to keep us from the days of wrath that will bring hell on earth for those 7 years. It could be that December 2012 is the event that will seem like the end of the world to the rest of the world because if the rapture happens then it will usher in those 7 horrible years.

The book of Daniel names Michael as the angel fighting off the prince of Persia who was preventing an answer to prayer to get through. You might want to look into that one.

A. Those of us already born again will escape His wrath to come. I have never read anything about using "just the right name" specifically during the Tribulation and wouldn't assume to know or guess about it. It will be out of our hands by then. The main thing is to witness to and pray for those we care about before its too late so they won't get left behind.

People from other countries know Him by different names and He answers to them all. He knows who He is and knows the intentions of the hearts of those who call on Him.

What is so great about free will granted from a god if man attempts to squash the free will of others?

I always see yacking about how great it is that some god gave us free will.
Ok yippie that's great.
Yet it seems that I see more evidence that indicates religious fundamentalism is more hell bent on squashing the free will of those with opposing views.
Can anyone actually explain this contradiction to me?

 Answer:

I have never tried to squash anyone's free will. As Christians we are commissioned by God to tell others of His wonderful free gift. We are not to force it on anyone. That is still their choice. God does not want puppets. He wants people to love Him. Being forced certainly would not have that result.

Christians who are pushy have their efforts back fire.

As long as we live in these human bodies we are subject to the same temptations and mistakes as anyone else.

Without free will we would all just be a pack of automatons.

Open Question

How does total submission and giving God control of our lives affect our choices?

I have gotten away from an abusive marriage and will be seeking a divorce. I feel God is really testing me to give Him total control especially in regards to finances. During my marriage I gave everything to share with my husband and he constantly took and will take again since I had all the assets in the marriage. It hurts that although I am not experiencing physical or mental abuse my husband will abuse again by taking half of everything financially. I feel I want to fight this and wonder if I should pursue it in court or should I be allowing God to take care of everything. Any advise from my fellow Christians?

 ANSWER:

Putting God first is the only answer. Be sure you tithe your income to a worthy ministry. Also lend a helping hand to the poor. Samaritan's Purse, Salvation Army to name a couple.

When God gets the first part of your income your part increases and your money goes way farther.

Your soon to be ex will not have that advantage and without God's blessings on what he gets it will probably be squandered to nothing. God really frowns on husbands or boyfriends who expect the woman to support them. If you don't work neither shall you eat is a Scripture that comes to mind.

What you have with God's blessing will go further than if you had the total amount. Trust me on this. I have the experience to prove it.

Remember the Scripture that says when someone asks for your robe, give him your cloak also. This puts the blessing on you, not the person taking it from you.

It is hard to do at first, but when you realize God is taking care of you, it will become easier.

I have been there. Tithing your income (gross amount) will soon become a joy.

Worship puts you in the middle of God's blessings. The Israelites put the singers of praise at the front of each battle effort to bring God's presence. They won these battles.

Life is a battle, especially now with the world in such turmoil. We are living in the end of the end times. Worship is more necessary now than ever.

What would you do in this situation?

I'm 14. Everyone in my family (immediate and extended) is a very strict Protestant. Some are Baptists, some Methodists, etc. I don't necessarily want to be a strict Baptist like my family, but I don't really have a choice because they make me go to church with them and follow their beliefs. Lately I've been considering becoming Mormon. I've researched the religion, and I've been praying and asking God for guidance in what I should do. I feel like becoming LDS is the right thing to do based on prayer. There are other reasons, too, but I won't list them all here to conserve space in my question, because it's already pretty lengthy. I already live by LDS moral standards - I dress modestly, don't swear, am planning on staying pure until marriage, I don't even drink caffeine.

I haven't told my mom I want to convert, because I know she would be so angry. She is completely against me being anything but Baptist, and she even told me once "If you become Mormon, you'll get no financial help from us at all." (meaning her and my dad). It's really frustrating because she puts down Mormons all the time, and she knows almost nothing about Mormonism at all. But I can't tell her the truth about it because she gets mad if I defend Mormons.

Anyway, I'm going to be moving to another part of the country this summer with my family. We've been looking at schools for me to go to, and one that we thought looked good was a charter school. However, my mom was doing research online and found out it is strongly Mormon. Immediately she was concerned because she thought maybe people there would try to convert me to be LDS. I have no problem with that whatsoever, but she does. I'm still not sure if she is going to let me go there or not.

The thing is, I would probably be kind of and outcast if I was one of the only ones who wasn't Mormon, even if that isn't my choice. My mom is controlling every aspect of my life, including what religion I am. I want to go to the school, but I'm not sure how I would fit in because of my parents decision of what religion I am.

What would you do in this situation? Would you want to still go to this school even if you might be looked down upon if you weren't LDS, because of something that wasn't your choice?

True Christian values are much as you have described that Mormons teach. Christianity teaches the same things. It is just that not everyone actually does what they are taught. Faith without works is dead.

We are all commanded to honor our parents. Do this and God will honor you. Keep your thoughts on the subject of wanting to change quiet for the time being. When you are out on your own and if that desire to switch to that religion is still with you then do so. You can still obey the precepts without getting into an argument about it.

In Proverbs it says "silence is golden." I think this may be one of those situations.....at least for now.

It tries to obliterate the divinity of Jesus by saying He was married to Mary Magdalene and had descendents.

His children are the spiritual children of which we can all be part. To put the Son of God on the same level with everyone else would harm His effectiveness and make the Bible a lie.

I watched Josh Bernstein on the History channel and he used DNA from the remains found that date back to the time the events were to have happened in Europe and compared them to the DNA of people who are true descendents of the people who live in the same area as Mary Magdalene did. There was absolutely no middle eastern DNA in any of the European remains which are claimed to be Jesus and Mary's descendants.

Anything that raises doubts about the person and character of Jesus is a devilish conspiracy to deny His divinity. The rumor was started in Jesus time that He was the bastard son of Mary, his mother, and a Roman soldier. The devil has not given up his plots to discredit Jesus and won't until he is thrown into the Lake of Fire forever.

God is not malevolent. Lucifer became the devil when his heart was lifted up in pride.

God is all powerful and He is not the one who creates the disasters on earth. People do that.

He may not be answering your prayers but He has been answering mine for many years so when you say He doesn't answer prayers just speak for yourself and leave the rest of us out of it. I keep track of my prayers by writing them down. I check them off as they are answered. I have a lot of check marks.

Version B sounds like The Message Bible. I like to use it now and then but won't use it as a final word because I think they over do modernizing it and it can lose its meaning.

I always go back to the King James version as the final authority because it was translated directly from the original Hebrew and Greek.

She was a virgin until after the birth of Jesus. Later she had other sons and daughters. Uncle Thesis is right. Many Catholics (not all of them) worship Mary. If they found out she did not stay a virgin I wonder if it would make a difference.

She was a wonderful righteous woman; actually a girl of about 16 when the Holy Spirit overshadowed her and she became pregnant with the Son of God. She had to be righteous, strong and totally unselfish to do what she did. God knew her heart. That is why she was chosen for such an important role. Jesus was not just her son but also her Savior as He is ours.

What is really interesting is He first appeared to women, not men. They readily believed in Him. Even when Mary told the disciples He was risen they didn't believe her.

I never thought of it that way. Interesting. I think the rituals and holy days are to help people remember and celebrate what they believe. I know it is for Christians and Jews.

March 8, 2009 This is an answer for Geert Wilders who is a Jewish friend. The answer I gave was that God closed the minds of many Jews for the past 2000 years. The question was asked about why Jews kill innocent children and a whole bunch of other garbage. I think it was posted by someone of the Islamic faith. I also said the holocaust was recent proof of the terrible persecution.

I mentioned Jews for Jesus and that the New Testament states that the Jews will recognize Him whom they have pierced in ONE day and all will see Him as the Messiah. It was probably an orthodox Jew or maybe a Muslim who took offense. It would be nice to know who my accuser is. B.Fox
